Maria is a pan-African feminist who is passionate about participatory action research focusing primarily on climate change, women’s rights, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is currently the Senior International Research Manager for Restless Development where she leads on youth leadership and power shifting in research. Maria is also the founder of Mwana Pwo, the first Angolan NGO focusing specifically on youth and adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights, and volunteers as a Lusophone Africa Advisor for Urgent Action Fund Africa. She is an alumna of the 2018 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.
