My Name is Domtila Chesang a frontline grassroots activist working to end FGM in my community. I am a trained secondary school teacher who chose to set aside her career to champion a more demanding course- Ending FGM /Child Mariages and creating safe spaces for women and girls to thrive. I founded I Am Responsible Foundation, i locally based organization that rallies behind the eradication of harmful traditional practices. Over 6000 girls have been indirectly impacted by my work and over 500 have directly been rescued from FGM and given access to education.

Come and meet this powerful force of local campaigners, many of them survivors, who are taking back control of ending FGM from the international private contractors – or what the Economist calls: “beltway bandits” #FrontlineEndingFGM will also unveil the techniques and tools they are already using in 14 countries across Africa to end FGM – from the smallest local radio station to the Frontline Feminist Digital Directory that has taken ten years to build. Backed for nearly ten years now by the United National Population Fund, UNFPA, the Wallace Global Fund and the Global Media Campaign to End FGM .
