Based on the case of the West and Central African regional ministerial commitment (23 countries) on comprehensive sexuality education, sexual and reproductive health services and the fight against gender-based violence, adopted at the beginning of April 2023, this session opens up a space for reflection and co-construction of mechanisms for mutual and inclusive accountability, based on the meaningful and inclusive participation of young people, from a gender perspective.

The Generation Equality Forum (GEF) Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and SRHR is a movement to ensure that women have control of their bodies, to create enabling systems and structures and to build solidarity against regressive forces. Two years into the Generation Equality journey, the Coalition will reflect on the progress that has been made, and the gaps that still exist. This event will mark the largest gathering of the Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and SRHR since its inception to draw attention to emerging “stories of impact” from commitment makers and leaders as a means of feminist accountability.
