Zemen Yeshitela, is a public health specialist and nurse with 11 years of experience, current working in Gende Gerada health facility in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. A community abortion provider, Zemen provides abortion and contraceptive care, working with community health extension workers to reach women and girls in urban and rural areas of Dire Dawa. Zemen is an SRH champion dedicated to challenging and changing the negative attitudes her fellow health professionals hold when it comes to providing high-quality abortion care for all. She works with local news stations and journalists to increase access to non-stigmatizing abortion and contraception information.
