The most effective way to advance women’s rights worldwide is to directly invest in feminist movements. This session will showcase actors including governments and women’s funds, who have recognized the transformative potential of funding feminist movements. These actors have changed, or are in the process of challenging, their funding practices to provide flexible, long-term, core funding to feminist organizations. Through curated, small group discussions, this event provides participants with the chance to personally engage with these actors, better understand the elements necessary to realize the potential of feminist movements, what is working, and how to help them grow.

This event will examine where the world stands on gender equity in the health workforce, more than 3 years into the pandemic, and in the lead up to the High Level Meetings on Universal Health Coverage and Pandemic Preparedness and Response. It will dive into the 4 pillars of the Gender Equal Health and Care Workforce Initiative (led by France and Women in Global Health) – equal leadership in health, safe and decent work for health workers, workplaces free from violence, and equal pay – and will then go into a discussion of solutions to reaching gender equity in the global health workforce.

Have you ever imagined what a feminist world system would look like? This session will explore how feminist policies are attempting to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time and challenge existing paradigms so that we may re-imagine what a feminist future can look like. Leading experts, policymakers, activists, and advocates will come together to explore the implementation and impact of feminist policies across various sectors from feminist foreign policy, the care economy, and peacebuilding. Through insightful discussions and case studies, we will examine the potential of feminist policies to address systemic inequalities, promote women’s rights, challenge gender norms, and create inclusive and just societies.

The Generation Equality Forum (GEF) Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and SRHR is a movement to ensure that women have control of their bodies, to create enabling systems and structures and to build solidarity against regressive forces. Two years into the Generation Equality journey, the Coalition will reflect on the progress that has been made, and the gaps that still exist. This event will mark the largest gathering of the Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and SRHR since its inception to draw attention to emerging “stories of impact” from commitment makers and leaders as a means of feminist accountability.

Women advancing feminist agendas within and outside formal political spaces are on the frontline of the coordinated attacks on women’s rights and the politics that shape them. In this session, an inspiring group of women leaders will come together from across the political landscape and, through a facilitated panel, explore the role feminist solidarity has played in their leadership journeys. They will also consider how they have navigated their feminist ideologies within formal political spaces. The audience is invited to be active participants in this critical discussion.
