Dr. Monekata has led development projects in 15 countries, including West Africa (Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, Mauritania, and Senegal), two in Southeast Africa (Malawi, Zimbabwe), East Africa (Uganda and Ethiopia), Central Africa (Democratic Republic of Congo) and the Caribbeans (Haiti). Dr. Monekata has been a member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Secretary of the Forum of International Non-Governmental Organizations in Mali (FONGIM) and led the development of the Mali Civil Society Voluntary National Report presented at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York in July 2022.
