Ayesha is a feminist academic and activist in the areas of climate justice and feminist organizing. She has worked extensively in the Caribbean on the cross-cutting issues of youth, gender and climate action. She is the founder of GirlsCARE which provides mentorship and training to young women and girl activists in the Caribbean; and of Young People for Action on Climate Change which is spearheading the building of a Caribbean Youth Climate Justice Coalition. She co-leads the implementation of the Envisioning Resilience initiative in Jamaica which trains young women to use for photography as a tool for climate adaptation storytelling.
