Kimani Karuga

Kimani is a Nairobi-based public health specialist who focuses on strengthening health systems to foster access to sexual and reproductive health and rights. He recently led a programme aimed at improving access to safe abortion (SA) information and services and promoting self-care among adolescent girls in two sub-Saharan African countries, with a network of private providers, grassroots organisations and a novel cohort of peer educators. Currently, he is co-leading a learning platform that supports innovators to test and develop new approaches that increase early access to SA, products and services in low- and middle-income countries and next-generation SA methods.
