Samanthi is a nursing sister with nearly three decades of experience in mental health. She started working as a mental health nurse in 1997. She became a community psychiatric nurse in 2010 and a nursing sister at the National Institute of Mental Health in 2021. She is a founding professional partner of CAN MH Lanka. She especially led the Colombo district consumer organizations. She has special training on UNCRPD and has international training in Community Mental Health.
