After training in social assistance at Dispensaire Trottoir in Bobo Dioulasso, Alimata Sawadogo specialized in comprehensive care for people living with HIV/AIDS and in index testing. Since 2005, she has been a mediator at the Adult Day Hospital and a psychosocial counselor at the Internal Medicine Unit of the Sanon Sourou Regional Hospital in Bobo Dioulasso.
Since 2021, after receiving training in cervical cancer prevention with Jhpiego’s SUCCESS project, she has been helping to raise awareness among women living with HIV so that they adhere to screening and treatment for pre-cancerous cervical lesions.
