Josephine Kamara is the Senior Advocacy and Communications Manager at Purposeful, a feminist, African-rooted global hub for girls’ organising and activism._x000D_
She led Purposeful and its coalition for girls’ education in raising public awareness and influencing the government of Sierra Leone to overturn the policy that banned pregnant girls from attending public schools and taking exams.
On a global level, Josephine has been a strong advocate for education financing and school safety campaigns and her commitment to causes for adolescent girls earned her recognition in 2015 as one of the 16 global heroes fighting to end violence against girls.
