Courtney McLarnon is the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor at the Center on Gender Equity and Health (GEH) at the University of California, San Diego. There, she works on the USAID-funded Agency for All project, contributing to research, monitoring, and implementation activities within the project. Bringing over 10 years of experience in program implementation, monitoring, learning and evaluation, scale up, research and capacity building with a focus on gender, social norms and social behavior change, family planning and sexual and reproductive health, male engagement, and gender-based violence.

Our experiences, needs, and priorities must be addressed and can vary from those of cisgender, heterosexual people. Ongoing invisibilization and exclusion reinforce and exacerbate health disparities in SRH and other areas based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and/or sex characteristics. This session will explore the current state of SGM inclusion in SRH research, programs, and services, focusing on low- and middle-income countries, and share tools and practices for strengthening inclusion across diverse country contexts.
