Poonam Kathuria is the founder and director of Society for Women’s Action and Training Initiatives -SWATI, a feminist organisation working at the state and national levels in India on issues related to violence against women and adolescents, their health, and women’s access and right to land and governance. Poonam has over 25 years of leadership experience in the prevention of gender-based violence, Women’s health, and leadership. Poonam was awarded the Dame Nita Barrow Distinguished Visitorship, 2015 by the University of Toronto

The Fund advances emerging approaches to decolonized philanthropy, by providing flexible funding to women’s funds, women-led organizations, and feminist leaders — trusting these groups’ local knowledge and expertise.
