Dr. Bermejo has more than 20 years’ experience as a senior executive in global federations, working across HIV and AIDS, humanitarian issues and health policy. Under his leadership, IPPF radically transformed its governance structure and resource allocation system so that its Member Associations and young people are the centre of its work. At CIFF he helped build an adolescent sexual and reproductive health portfolio in addition to the more established health, nutrition, and education portfolios. Dr Bermejo qualified as a Medical Doctor, holds master’s in Public Health and Overseas Development Cooperation._x000D_

As the polycrisis of conflict, climate change, food insecurity and COVID-19 continue to have devastating impacts for women and girls, we must work together to ensure that progress made to reduce the prevalence of CEFMU is not reversed. It will bring together young global leaders, influencers, and key stakeholders driving action to end CEFMU around the world. The event will encourage open dialogue on challenges and effective tools for preventing CEFMU, including through comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) – an empowering tool for changing harmful gender norms and practices that perpetuate child marriage and gender inequalities.
