Until 2017, she spent 23 Yrs with GROOTS Kenya as founding Director establishing transformative development approaches led by grassroots women
The 1995 UN Women Conference cemented Esther’s commitment to the value, leadership and agency of grassroots women and that progress happens if people living in poverty and in margins of development take centre stage to finding long solutions.
She led development of Women Land Rights Collective Commitment, part of Generation Equality Forum.
