Dr Jemimah Njuki is the Chief for Economic Empowerment at UN Women. She leads UN Women’s work on transforming the care economy, social protection, women’s employment and entrepreneurship, financing for gender equality and sustainable development. She is a renowned gender expert who has worked in government, research, civil society and international organizations. Prior to joining UN Women, she led the Gender Lever for the UN Food Systems Summit, was Director for Africa at the International Food Policy Research Institute, and Coordinator for the Growth and Economic Opportunities Program at IDRC. She has been widely recognized for her work.
