This partners breakfast event, will feature interconnected themes including: “What Works”- featuring promising initiatives, success factors and bottlenecks within collaborative initiatives that address multiple needs of women and girls’- led and grassroots organizations, movements and networks; and “Strategic Partnerships” – interrogating how funders and women and girls can collaborate better, build alliances, leverage on each other’s expertise, influence and financing towards advancing gender equality and meaningful participation. The event is open to all conference delegates and is co-organized by The Global Fund, Speak Up Africa, Voix EssentiELLES, ViiV Healthcare Positive Action, Her Voice Fund, Y+ Global, and supported by Fondation CHANEL.

This intergenerational event brings together young people, development practitioners and government partners working in the SRHR and HIV space to share their expertise in developing, implementing, and monitoring impactful youth-centered programmes in Africa. At the core of the Doing Development Differently (DDD) agenda is the emerging focus on the urgent need to disrupt the development status quo by ethically engaging communities as change agents and experts of their development needs. Our goal is to end this conversation with clarity around the importance of ethically engaging young people in the health and development agenda to end AIDS, inequality and GBV.
