Sangetha Jayakumar, is the Vice National Women Leader of People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN) of Malaysia’s ruling coalition government and Special Officer to the Minister of Education. She has been active in politics since age 16 becoming the first young woman to hold the position of National Vice Youth Chief in KEADILAN. Through her party work she has fought for the fielding of women candidates in both state and national elections. Sangetha founded a non-profit, LEAD UP in Malaysia, which focuses on leadership and empowerment and serves on the Board of YWCA Klang of “Rumah Perlindungan Sosial,” a women’s shelter.
