Manasi Kumar has wide experience mentoring lay, non-specialist and specialist health workers in WHO’s mhGAP & low intensity MH evidence-based interventions in SSA. She has focused on strengthening teaching of mental & behavioral sciences in undergrad & postgrad medical education programs in various in Sub-Saharan Africa & South Asia. Her work includes disparities in health systems in LMICs, mental health systems strengthening and maternal, child and adolescent MH research. She is an affiliate associate professor at Department of Global Health in University of Washington Seattle, US and UCL, London. She is supported by FIC/NIH, UNICEF and UK’s NIHR funding.
