Hauwa is the Executive Director at She Writes Woman. This award-winning movement gives mental health a voice in Nigeria by empowering those with lived experience to tell their stories, cocreate their solutions, and advocate for their rights. She created Safe Place Nigeria, a digital community for mental health conscious Nigerians to access tools, resources (24f7 toll-free helpline), professionals (counselors and therapists), and support systems. Hauwa is passionate about advocating for human rights and respecting mental health laws and policies. She hopes that people with lived experience can collectively champion inclusive and dignifying mental health policies and solutions in Nigeria.
