Jan Moolman is the Programmes Manager at the the Association for Progressive Communications, providing strategic and feminist leadership and support to programme managers to strengthen cross-programmatic collaboration and synergy towards meeting the organisations objectives. Prior to this, Jan co-led the organisation’s Women’s Rights programme where she provided leadership to WRP’s impactful advocacy to secure recognition for online gender-based violence through engaging and influencing multiple rights-based policy processes and in relation to internet governance. Jan has spent more than a decade supporting women’s rights, sexual rights and feminist actors to strengthen capacities to engage with digital technologies from feminist perspectives.

Discussion will provide participants with a strengthened understanding of the advantages and threats posed by technology and knowledge of the available tools to ensure design, adaptation and use of safe and ethical technology, data practices and policies.
