Takunda Tanyanyiwa is a Zimbabwean development practitioner with a decade’s experience working within social inclusion, health promotion and international development programming. Currently, Takunda is a PhD research fellow in Health and Welfare (Norway) with an MPhil in Global Development Theory and Practice – Health Promotion, (Norway) and a Bachelor’s in Public Administration (Zimbabwe). Takunda is a former Programs Coordinator for International Exchange at YMCA-YWCA Norway and currently sits on the board for YMCA-YWCA Global (Norway). In Zimbabwe, Takunda has worked within the Youth Empowerment and Transformation Trust network, Organizing for Zimbabwe Trust, Young Achievement Sports for Development, and Ramangwana Grassroots Development Initiative.

This new resource articulates Women Deliver’s approach to youth engagement, which centers marginalized youth advocates as designers, experts, and leaders, alongside traditional decision-makers and powerholders, in all gender equality and health advocacy spaces, convenings, and formal mechanisms. This approach to youth engagement is essential to addressing the world’s most pressing issues. The event will highlight key messages from the publication, followed by a panel discussion between the publication’s co-authors and high-level decision-makers on their work to advance equitable youth engagement and co-leadership.
