She holds a PhD in sociology from Northwestern University, a Master’s degree in Sociology from the same university, and is a lawyer and economist from the Universidad de Los Andes. As Deputy Director and researcher at Dejusticia, she focused on issues of citizen participation, forced displacement, access to health and environmental policy. She has been a professor in the faculties of Administration and Law at the Universidad de Los Andes. She was founder of the “Criando la Paz campaign”, which helped pregnant and lactating ex-combatant women in their transition to peace.
