Merette Khalil is a multilingual health systems researcher; gender and sexual reproductive health and rights advocate; and entrepreneurial birth-worker and educator, from Egypt. Merette works as a consultant with the UN where her research enables policy makers to strengthen health systems for health security and advance gender and health equity. As a passionate advocate for the elimination of obstetric violence, she started YourEgyptianDoula to educate, advocate, and empower expecting parents on their rights in childbirth. Merette is a champion for maternal and child health, youth, and gender equality, she is also the co-founder of Women in Global Health Egypt.
