Myriam Sfeir is the director of the AiW at LAU. Previously she served as senior managing editor of Al-Raida, the double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the AiW. She has over twenty five years of experience working in the area of women’s rights and gender equality and ample experience doing research, expert analysis, trainings, and teaching. She is an authority on the women’s movement in Lebanon and has worked extensively on several groundbreaking projects related to oral history, movement building, marginalized groups and has organized several international and regional conferences, film festivals, and panels that address gender rights and justice.

The Global Contraception Policy Atlas seeks to document, map and benchmark the performance of countries’ political leadership on family planning and provides concrete recommendations and suggestions for how they may improve. It aims to provide a living document, which introduces a common baseline on contraception policies on each continent and scores on their political leadership on family planning. Thematically it focuses on access to contraceptives, implementation of national and international policies ensuring the access and finally, funding for contraceptives and publicly available information about them.
