Gertrude is a Ghanaian advocate for disability rights and current chairperson of the United Nations (UN) Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She works as the Global Advocacy Manager at Sightsavers and has extensive experience in leadership and capacity building for social development. She is an international advocate for gender and disability issues, serving as president of the International Council on Education of People with Visual Impairment in Africa and a member of the World Blind Union’s Executive. She has received multiple awards, including Ghana’s Excellence Award-Grand Medal Award.
