Dr. Muriel Ametoglo is the Regional Gender and Economic Policy Specialist within the Women’s Economic Empowerment Unit of the UN Women’s Regional Office for West and Central Africa. She supports countries in formulating and implementing gender-responsive economic policies within this unit. For the past ten years, Dr. Ametoglo has worked with national and local governments, international organizations, and academia to generate evidence, design, implement, and monitor inclusive, sustainable, bottom-up, and women-centric policies, programs, and financing mechanisms. She holds a Ph.D. in applied economics and inequality economics and two master’s degrees in macroeconomics and international economics.
