A demographer by training, my work and research encompass the conceptualisation of gender and social inclusion issues for women and girls in Africa and internationally. I currently lead the Population Dynamics and Demographic Dividend area of work at the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), which includes work on the drivers of rapid population growth, the status of women, migration and youth demographics. I am passionate about research making a difference in the lives of individuals and communities, through its influence on policy and the way that practitioners carry out work on the ground.
