Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus is a Polish politician and women’s rights activist. She was born in 1966 in Warsaw, Poland, and studied at the University of Warsaw, where she earned a degree in psychology. In 2015, Scheuring-Wielgus was elected to the Polish parliament. Currently, she is a member of the Left party. She has been a strong advocate for women’s rights, including reproductive rights, equal pay, and combating gender-based violence. She has also been an outspoken critic of the conservative government’s efforts to restrict access to abortion and SRHR-related services in Poland.
