Lea is a Kenyan patient global health strategist and advocate who founded Africa Sickle Cell organization and serves in an advisory capacity to the NCD Alliance’s patient advocacy initiative. She works with Governments, Partners and Health system actors to serve patients better by implementing strategies and actions that encourage Good Health and Well-Being for All. She has been named a Kenyan “Hero” for her work in sickle cell and responsible for initiating an award-winning photo-documentary of Sickle Cell patients that led to the development of national guidelines in Kenya for the control and management of sickle cell disease in Kenya.
