Basira Paigham is born and raised in Afghanistan, she is working as human rights defender of LGBTQIA+ since 2016 and advocating Afghanistan LGBTQIA+ community. In 2021, BBC recognized her as one of the 100 most influential women of the year. She with her fellows founded the first Afghanistan LGBT official organization “Afghan LGBT” and now she is serving as it board member.
