Anisie is a disability rights activist from Rwanda. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting. She is talented in poetry, and her poems have been awarded in festivals both nationally and internationally. Anisie mainly advocates for girls and young women’s empowerment, inclusivity and better access to services for persons with disabilities. She has had roles with organisations focused on people with disabilities such as UNABU and UWEZO, an initiative that aims to improve competencies in literacy and numeracy among children. She has also been a gender and disability facilitator at VSO Rwanda, working to prevent gender-based violence.
